The State of the Internet in 2012


What is the state of the Internet in 2012? The infographic below, created by OnlineUniversities.com provides some interesting data about the current state of the Internet. Globally, nearly 200 countries and regions had year-over-year growth in the number of unique IP addresses. Also, the global average connection speed was up 19%. South Korea remains the top country providing the highest average connection speed (17.5 Mbps). By comparison, the U.S. averages out at about 5.8 Mbps while the global average connection speed crawls by at a measly 2.3 Mbps.
